Film & Photography on the Front Range

Please join us on Saturday, June 11, 2011
East Library, 5550 N. Union Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO

Film & Photography on the Front Range will examine the ways in which film and photography helped capture and shape ideas and realities about the regionís landscape and its social, cultural, artistic and economic sectors. It is designed to preserve and celebrate the roles of pioneering photographers and film-makers in promoting the regionís beauty and character, along with the related business interests that emerged from their work--ranging from post-card production, film-set locations, advertizing for television and movies, and the production of arty albums and books of photographs. The purposes are to encourage public recognition and discussion of the role of photographers and film-makers in shaping ideas and perceptions of the Front Range through both still and moving visual imagery.
